About the project

This site exists because of one woman.

In October 2024, a Cornell student went to a party at the Chi Phi fraternity house. In a lawsuit filed nearly two years later under the name Jane Doe, she alleges that she was given alcohol and drugs and sexually assaulted over several hours. Her lawsuit names seven former Cornell students and describes messages in which others were encouraged to join.

She reported what happened weeks later. Cornell carried out an investigation that resulted in disciplinary action, but no criminal charges were filed at the time. The criminal investigation has since been reopened.

Her identity remains private, so most of us will never know her name. But we can still write to her. We can tell her that she is not alone, that what she has shared matters, and that women around the world are standing with her.

And while this space begins with Jane Doe, it is for every woman who has carried an experience like this, whether she has spoken about it or never told anyone at all.

Here, women can write letters of love, strength and solidarity. This isn't a place to debate a case or discuss the people involved. It's simply women writing to women to say:

We see you.
We stand with you.
You are not alone.

And if something like this has happened to you, these letters are for you too. Read as many or as few as you like. Take your time, and come back whenever you need to.

Every letter is read first

Nothing goes on the wall until it's been checked. Every letter is screened for hate speech, victim blaming, graphic descriptions, harassment, and anything that names or identifies people involved in a case. Letters that pass are added to the wall. Letters that don't are kindly turned away. We have zero tolerance for anything that breaks these rules. If you ever see a letter that doesn't belong, report it. We will take it down and review it.

Your privacy

You don't need an account or an email address to write a letter. Your name, age and country are optional, and you can use just a first name or initials. After you send your letter, you'll get a private link to check on it, edit it or delete it at any time. We don't keep an email address for your letter, and we never store your IP address in a readable form. Read our full privacy policy for the details.
