Rules
This wall is for letters of love, strength and solidarity. A few simple rules keep it a safe and kind place for Jane Doe, and for everyone who comes here to read.
They are the same for every letter.
What belongs here
- Support, love and solidarity.
- Words of strength, belief and hope.
- A brief mention of your own experience, if you want to share it. "I've been there too" is enough.
You need to be 18 or over to write. Before you begin, you'll be asked to tick a few boxes to agree to these rules.
What doesn't
To keep everyone safe, we don't publish letters that include:
- Hate speech or harassment.
- Blame placed on a survivor, however gently it is worded.
- Detailed descriptions of assault, whether your own or someone else's.
- Names or details that could identify Jane Doe, or the people or organisations involved in any case. Please don't guess who she is.
- Opinions on the legal case.
- Spam, links or contact details.
How letters are checked
Every letter is checked before it appears. Nothing goes on the wall until then.
A moderator reads each letter, sometimes helped by an automated filter. Anything the filter isn't sure about always goes to a moderator.
This can take up to a day or two.
If you see something that shouldn't be here
Please tell us. Open the letter, choose the three dots in its corner, then "Report this letter". You won't be asked who you are.
One report is enough to take the letter off the wall until a moderator has looked at it.
You can also use the contact form. Please include the letter's reference, which you'll find at the end of the letter, after the # sign.
If your letter isn't published
Your private link will show a short, kind reason. It is never a judgement of you.
You are welcome to edit your letter, or to write another.
Thank you for helping to keep this a gentle place. Whenever you feel ready, we would love to read your letter.
If you need someone to talk to, support is here.
